NFL.com is reporting the Green Bay Packers are set to release Charles Woodson. The defensive back's agent told NFL.com's Ian Rapoport the team is going to cut Woodson.
Woodson, 36, spent the last seven seasons in Green Bay and was set to make about $10 million this year, the highest amount on the team.
Woodson was drafted by the Oakland Raiders in the first round of the 1998 draft. He won the Heisman Trophy in 1997 as a student at the University of Michigan.
Off the field Woodson is known for his charity work at the University of Michigan C.S. Mott Children's Hospital. In 2009, he made a $2 million donation to support pediatric research at the hospital.
