Five wrestlers from Central Wisconsin are headed home as state champions, after claiming titles at the Individual State Wrestling Tournament in Madison on Saturday Night.
Wausau West's Colin Baine claimed the division one 126 pound title against Merrill's Garrett Schmelling with an 8-2 decision. He finishes with a perfect season.
Merrill's Tyler Schmidt also took home division one wrestling gold, by defeating Dakota Johnson from Advance School Of Wrestling with
6-1 decision in the 220 pound final.
In division three, Edgar's Luke Nowak claimed his second state title, by defeating Cambridge's Jack Jett by pin in the 182 pound final.
Nowak's twin brother Matt Nowak claimed his first state title, by defeating Wyatt Seep from Cazenovia in a 5-4 decision for the 170 pound title.
Edgar's Devin Lemanski also walked away with a division three state wrestling title, by defeating Oshkosh's Austin Loos by a 9-4 decision to wrap up the 126 pound title.
