WASHINGTON (AP) -- Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Wily Peralta is "iffy" to make his next start because of a strained left hamstring, and Ryan Braun might be back earlier than expected after a good round of hitting in the batting cage.
Peralta was able to work out in the weight room and play some catch Wednesday, a day after the hamstring injury forced him from the game in the sixth inning of a win over the Washington Nationals.
Manager Ron Roenicke said the injury doesn't seem to be serious. Still, the manager said it is "iffy" that Peralta will start as scheduled Sunday.
Roenicke was heartened by Braun's indoor hitting session Tuesday, saying it's a "possibility" that the slugger could return from a thumb injury before the All-Star break.
