MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Milwaukee Brewers manager Ned Yost is blaming yesterday's loss on the umpires.
The 7-4 loss in Atlanta put the Brewers 3 1/2 games out with only one week left in the season.
Chicago won today over Pittsburgh 8-0.
Yost says the umpires blew it on two calls in particular in the seventh inning, when the Braves rallied for four runs to erase a 4-1 deficit.
The Brewers thought Mark Teixeira was out at first on a close play and Jeff Francoeur out at second.
The calls would have got them out of the inning with the lead if they went their way.
He called the umpiring a bad joke.
But umpire crew chief Ed Montague says he hasn't looked at the replays but says supervisor Richie Garcia did and he says they are good calls.
