HOUSTON (AP) -- Johnny Estrada hit his second grand slam of the season against Houston as the Milwaukee Brewers beat the Astros 9-1 in Houston last night and moved into first place in the Central Division.
The Brewers overcame an injury to Ben Sheets with the help of Estrada's blast. After Sheets pitched the first inning, Claudio Vargas came on and pitched four scoreless innings to improve his record to 11-4.
The Chicago Cubs, meanwhile, lost 5-2 to the Cincinnati Reds and now are less than a percentage point behind the Brewers.
Ryan Braun added a two-run homer and Prince Fielder stretched his hitting streak to 16 games with an RBI single for the Brewers.
