UNDATED (AP) -- Following its shocking loss to Appalachian State, Michigan has fallen out of The Associated Press Top 25.

The Wolverines entered last Saturday's game against the Mountaineers ranked fifth.

Michigan's fall is the biggest since the AP poll expanded to 25 teams in 1989.

Southern California retains the number-one ranking, getting 59 of 65 first-place votes from a nationwide media panel.

Second-ranked LSU got five first-place ballots and the other went to third-ranked West Virginia.

Florida jumped from fourth to sixth and Oklahoma moved up three spots to fifth, tied with Wisconsin.

Texas fell three spots to seventh after a 21-13 win over Arkansas State.

Louisville, Virginia Tech and California round out the top ten.

Georgia is 11th, followed by Ohio State, UCLA, Penn State, Rutgers, Nebraska, Auburn, Arkansas, TCU and Hawaii.

Georgia Tech is in this week at No. 21, with Boise State, Texas A&M, Tennessee and newcomer Clemson rounding out the final five.

Florida State also dropped out after last night's 24-18 loss to Clemson.
