MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Brewers righthander Claudio Vargas will be examined today by a team physician after complaining of back pain in San Francisco.
Vargas tells the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel he's heading for the disabled list.
He was tagged for six runs in two-thirds of an inning Friday night by the Giants.
The Brewers have the day off to think about their options if Vargas goes on the DL.
Milwaukee has dropped to .500 for the first time since they were 4-4 on April 10.
