GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- Packers general manager Ted Thompson says he's hopeful that top receiver Donald Driver will be ready for Green Bay's opener on September 9.
But Thompson says he didn't have specifics on Driver's injury from last night.
Driver hurt his foot in the second quarter of Green Bay's preseason loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars at Lambeau Field.
Thompson says team doctor Patrick McKenzie thinks Driver dodged a more serious injury.
But he didn't rule out that Driver could miss time once the season begins.
Driver caught Aaron Rodgers' first pass of the game just to the left of the line of scrimmage, made a spin move and appeared to have the ankle pinned while being tackled by safety Sammy Knight after a 12-yard gain with 2:29 left in the half.
The Packers' top receiver immediately reached for his lower leg after the play ended and was aided off the field.
