NEW INFO: Johnston and Schuman Tied After Second Round

KOHLER, Wis. (AP) -- Mike Johnston shot a 1-over-par 73 but emerged from the soggy second round tied with Jim Schuman for the lead of the Wisconsin State Open golf tournament at Blackwolf Run.

Johnston, a teaching pro from Milwaukee, and Schuman, a two-time state champion and golf coach at the University of Wisconsin, are tied at 2-under 142 heading into the 36-hole final today.

Schuman fired a 69 to gain a share of the lead.

Next at 143 are Sentryworld assistant pro Ryan Helminen, UW junior Dan Woltman and Blackhawk head pro Mike Witt.

First-round leader Michael Harris had a 76 but was only two strokes back at 144.
