MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Milwaukee's Chris Capuano may not be a starter much longer.

Pinch-hitter Javier Valentin hit a two-run double in the eighth inning to give the Cincinnati Reds a 7-6 victory yesterday - and send the Brewers to their 16th straight loss in games started by Capuano.

Capuano didn't take the loss, even though he squandered a 5-0 lead.

The lefty went six-plus innings, giving up five runs and nine hits with a walk and eight strikeouts.

Scott Linebrink took the loss for the Brewers, who had gotten homers from Prince Fielder, Ryan Braun and Bill Hall.

Manager Ned Yost has been threatening to demote Capuano.

When asked to comment after the game, he said he'd need to think about it.
