MILWAUKEE (AP) -- The Milwaukee Brewers have recalled outfielder Gabe Gross from AAA Nashville.
The Brewers removed struggling relief pitcher Chris Spurling from their roster, designating him for assignment.
That means they have 10 days to trade him, release him or send him to the minors.
Overall, Spurling was 2-1 with a 4.91 ERA in 38 relief outings.
In his last 10 outings, Spurling compiled a 10.12 earned run average.
Gross was sent to Nashville a few weeks ago after struggling to a .202 batting average with four homers and nine RBI in 89 at-bats.
