GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- Brett Favre sat out a morning practice yesterday and has now missed several practices in training camp.
It's a combination of Packers coach Mike McCarthy's plan to rest veterans and Favre's recent personal absence to attend his father-in-law's funeral.
But that doesn't necessarily mean that McCarthy will play Favre more than usual in the Packers' preseason game at Pittsburgh on Saturday.
McCarthy says he's not interested in exposing Brett Favre to defenses yet and he needs to give backup Aaron Rodgers as much work as possible.
