Packers RB Pope Needed Knee Surgery

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- Backup running back P.J. Pope had arthroscopic knee surgery and is expected to miss "a couple" weeks.

So says Packers coach Mike McCarthy.

Pope injured his knee during the Packers' "Family Night" scrimmage at Lambeau Field this past weekend.

The Packers already are missing projected starting running back Vernand Morency because of a knee injury.

But McCarthy says he and general manager Ted Thompson do not anticipate bringing another running back into camp.
