MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Losing 8-6 to the Phillies in 11 innings was hardly the way the Brewers wanted to hit the road after a six-game homestand.

Milwaukee has lost 11 of the last 14 games on the road.

The Brewers had a five-run lead in the top of the ninth before imploding yesterday.

Manager Ned Yost says he's looking forward to the challenges the road will present, first against the Colorado Rockies, then in Houston.

Claudio Vargas will pitch tonight for the Brewers at Coors Field.

He's coming off his worst outing of the season against New York when he allowed seven runs in 2 2/3 innings.
