MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- The Wisconsin Badgers are ranked seventh in the USA Today pre-season coaches' poll.
It's the Badgers second highest pre-season ranking in the poll.
Wisconsin was ranked number five when they opened the 2000 season after coming off consecutive Rose Bowl wins.
Southern California has the top spot in the USA Today poll, followed by LSU, defending national champion Florida, Texas and Big Ten Conference pre-season favorite Michigan.
West Virginia was ranked one spot ahead of Wisconsin at number six.
The 2007 Associated Press pre-season poll is set to be released August 18.
