MILWAUKEE (AP) -- General manager Doug Melvin is looking for some help for the Brewers overworked bullpen.
Melvin has talked to the Texas Rangers about closer Eric Gagne.
The Brewers join the New York Mets, New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox in their interest for Gagne.
The Brewers' relievers have shown some signs of wear since the all-star break, in part because manager Ned Yost has been forced to cover three or four innings per game from the bullpen.
Milwaukee recently acquired reliever Scott Linebrink from San Diego, but scouts say he's overworked as well.
