GREEN LAKE, Wis. (AP) -- The WIAA board has rejected a proposal from a coaches committee to deal with discontent over where private schools belong in the state basketball tournament series.

The coaches recommended moving up non-public schools in Division 3 and 4 by one division.

There's been growing frustration with the impact of private schools in state tournaments since they joined the WIAA in 2000 - particularly in boys basketball.

Private schools went 1-for-4 at the state boys tournament this season.

Racine St. Catherine's won its third straight title after emerging from a four-team Division Three field that featured all private schools.
