DETROIT (AP) -- The Brewers are making contingency plans in case pitcher Chris Capuano has to go on the disabled list.
They are making plans to call up pitching prospect Yovani Gallardo.
Capuano was scratched from his scheduled start yesterday when he suffered a slight groin strain warming up in the bullpen.
Carlos Villanueva stepped in and pitched five strong innings in the Brewers' 3-2 win.
Capuano is scheduled for Monday against San Francisco.
But, he says he might not be ready.
Manager Ned Yost says he wants to keep Villanueva in the bullpen.
So the Brewers made plans to summon Gallardo from Triple A Nashville if necessary to make the Monday start against San Francisco.
