We've been telling you for the last couple of weeks that Jordan Zimmerman's stock in the Major League Baseball draft has been on the up and up.
And today the Auburndale native and UW-Stevens Point pitcher's dream of being a professional ball player came true.
Zimmerman was selected by the Washington Nationals in the 2nd round of the draft today, 67th overall. Jordan's stock went up by going 10-0 this past season with a 2.08 ERA, 90 strikeouts and only 18 walks over 78 innings. And in the postseason the kid from Auby only got better. The one-hit shutout in the D3 World Series and he gave up no runs and 3 hits with 26 strikeouts over his final 19-2/3 innings pitched.
