MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Brewers second baseman Rickie Weeks has been placed on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to Wednesday, because of a sore right wrist that's continuing to bother him.
Weeks had surgery on the wrist last year to fix a tendon that was snapping out of place.
The Brewers say the problem now appears to be scar tissue that keeps breaking up.
Weeks is flying to Phoenix to be checked by Dr. Don Sheridan, who performed last year's season-ending surgery on him.
The Brewers called up reliever Jose Capellan to take Weeks' spot on the roster.
Capellan was sent to the minors at the end of spring trading and was so upset by the move that he at first didn't show up at AAA Nashville.
He was not paid for two games he missed with the minor league team.
