MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Prince Fielder hit his league-leading 19th homer and J.J. Hardy drove in the go-ahead run in the eighth inning, as the Milwaukee Brewers beat the Florida Marlins 4-3 at Miller Park last night.
The key run came when Corey Hart doubled with two outs in the eighth and Hardy followed with a single off Matt Lindstrom for his team-leading 46th run batted in.
Milwaukee's bullpen held up a day after its relievers allowed eight runs in the final two innings of a 9-3 loss to Atlanta.
Carlos Villanueva threw two scoreless innings and Francisco Cordero earned his 19th save in as many chances.
Fielder hit his two-run homer in the fourth inning off Marlins starter and former Brewer Wes Obermueller.
He set a franchise record for the most homers in a single month with 13 in May.
That topped the previous record of 12 by Gorman Thomas in August of 1979, Greg Vaughn in June of 1996 and Jeromy Burnitz in June of 1999.
The Brewers and Marlins continue their series tonight.
