GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- As the Packers' three-day mandatory minicamp wrapped up this weekend, fans have reason to be optimistic.
Brett Favre threw some sharp passes yesterday, although he only saw limited practice duty.
He and backup Aaron Rodgers again were held out of the full-speed team portions of practice, as both players near full recoveries from their injuries.
Favre had surgery on his sore ankle in February and Rodgers is still recovering from his broken foot last season.
Packers coach Mike McCarthy said that while Favre's participation in practice was limited, it was important for the team to have him there.
After criticizing the Packers' front office last weekend for failing to pull off a trade for wide receiver Randy Moss, Favre originally threatened to skip the minicamp.
According to McCarthy, Favre plans to be present for nine of the team's 12 scheduled optional off-season workouts over the next several weeks.
