GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- The Packers' second-round draft pick is headed for Los Angeles this weekend instead of minicamp in Green Bay.
The NFL Management Council has barred Brandon Jackson from attending the minicamp because he's expected to attend the "2007 Reebok NFL Rookie Premier" to start working on his endorsement deals and player cards.
Jackson wanted to go to camp to get a shot at working with the Packer veterans.
But, the Management Council told the Packers and Jackson that he isn't allowed at the camp because he's committed to the Rookie Premier.
The sponsors of the event pay big licensing fees to the NFL.
