Hardy, Cordero Happy to be Winning, Streaks or No Streaks
MILWAUKEE (AP) -- J.J. Hardy doesn't want his 19-game hitting streak to create added pressure when he steps in the batter's box.
It didn't seem to bother the Milwaukee shortstop last night, when he hit a key double in the sixth inning and added a homer in the eighth.
He's now got nine homers, second on the Brewers to Prince Fielder with 10, and his hitting streak is tied for the fourth-longest in team history.
But he says he's not a big fan of the streak because it adds pressure he doesn't need.
Speaking of streaks, Brewers closer Francisco Cordero now is perfect in 14 save chances this season.
He says the team is simply on a roll, with good pitching, good hitting and good defense - a combination that's hard to beat.
