Kohl Presses for New Arena

MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Senator Herb Kohl says his Milwaukee Bucks need a new arena to remain competitive.

But, he said today he won't resort to threats of moving the team to make it happen.

Kohl says the team has one-year remaining on its lease with the Bradley Center.

And, he expects the team to stay there for the foreseeable future.

Kohl hopes to work with Bradley Center officials on renovations that could help the team take in more revenue.

But long term, Kohl says the Bucks must follow the lead of the Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers to remain competitive and get a new facility.

Kohl says private financing is unlikely, unless he jokes, U.S. senators get a big raise.
