MILWAUKEE (AP) -- The County Stadium grandstand where Hank Aaron's final home run landed no longer exists.
But a team of engineers in Milwaukee has calculated precisely where the ball landed back in 1976 - and Brewers officials plan to mark the spot with a commemorative plaque.
The spot is now in a restricted parking area at Miller Park.
Civil engineering professor Alan Horowitz worked with student engineers from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee to track down the spot.
The group pored over video footage of the home run, and studied aerial photos of Miller Park and County Stadium.
Home run number 755 sailed over the left-field wall and off a fan's hands. Miller Park spokesman Tyler Barnes says officials considered marking the spot where the ball would have landed had it continued unimpeded.
Instead the plaque will be placed on the ground directly below where the fan was sitting.
Barnes says they picked that spot because it's where the flight of the ball officially ended.
A ceremony is planned in June, with Aaron in attendance.
