MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- A new report today says errors that resulted in incorrect sales tax payments to counties and sports districts covering Lambeau Field and Miller Park have been addressed and taxes are now being accurately calculated.
The nonpartisan Legislative Audit Bureau in December 2005 found a host of problems with the computer system used to process and distribute sales taxes.
The bureau has taken another look at the system and found the errors have been addressed and that there's a reasonable assurance that taxes are being accurately calculated.
59 counties and the two stadium districts impose some kind of sales tax in addition to the state's five percent rate applied to a variety of goods and services.
