ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) -- Kevin Borseth got a six-year deal to leave Wisconsin-Green Bay and become coach for the struggling University of Michigan women's basketball program.

Borseth replaces Cheryl Burnett, who retired after four seasons.

The Wolverines were 35-83 overall and 10-54 in the Big Ten on Burnett's watch.

Borseth was 216-62 over nine seasons at Green Bay.

He'll get about $300,000 a year at Michigan.

The 52-year-old native of Bessemer coached Michigan Tech from 1987-1998, posting a 225-97 record.

Michigan also hired Grand Valley State head coach Dawn Plitzuweit as an associate under Borseth.
