Zach Johnson wins the Masters, Tiger ties for second

AUGUSTA, Ga. (AP) -- Unheralded Zach Johnson shot a 3-under-69 to win the Masters by two shots over Tiger Woods, Rory Sabbatini and Retief Goosen.

The 31-year-old Johnson pulled away from Woods and the rest of the pack with three birdies in a crucial four-hole stretch along the back nine of Augusta National.

It's just the second win of his career.

Johnson is the least accomplished Masters champion since Larry Mize chipped in to beat Greg Norman in a playoff 20 years ago.

Woods came up short in his quest for a fifth green jacket by carding a final-round 72 and a 3-over total.

Sabbatini and Goosen shot 69's.

Madison native Jerry Kelly shot 2-uner on Sunday, finishing in a tie for fourth while defending champion Phil Mickelson began the round with a triple-bogey seven and finished back in the pack at 11-over.
