UW-Stevens Point could have two National Championships by Saturday's end.

The Pointer men’s basketball team won their semifinal game over John Carroll in commanding fashion. They grabbed a lead early and never looked back. Jon Krull led the team with a career high 25 points.

Nick Bennett banged up his knee late in the game, and didn't return. Still, the junior forward plans to play in Saturday's championship game with Williams. Tipoff is around 3:30 in the afternoon.

Meanwhile, the women’s hockey team will also be competing for a Division Three National Championship. Their 4-1 win over Manhattanville Friday propels them into the title game with Middlebury.

Kim Lunneborg led the scorers with two points. Their championship game begins at 6 p.m. Saturday.
