CHICAGO (AP) -- Wisconsin has become the highest seed to lose so far in the NCAA.
The number two-seeded Badgers lost to the seven-seed Runnin' Rebels 74-68 yesterday.
UNLV's Kevin Kruger connected on three straight three-pointers late in the second half, rallying the Runnin' Rebels rallied to the victory in the second round of the Midwest Regional.
Kruger was shooting just one-of-15 in the tournament, including one-of-seven yesterday, when he found the range.
He tied it with a three, then hit another to give the Runnin' Rebels the lead with just under six minutes left.
UNLV led by 12 at the half, but Wisconsin rallied with 11 straight points.
A 16-2 run gave the Badgers a five-point lead to the delight of their red-clad fans at the United Center.
But Kruger delivered.
After his three three-pointers, he was fouled on another long-range attempt and made all three free throws to make it 64-56 with a little more than three minutes left.
