TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) -- Chicago White Sox starter Jon Garland had his problems, but Chicago still beat the Milwaukee Brewers 11-8 in exhibition baseball yesterday.
Garland allowed seven hits and three earned runs over four innings in that game in Tucson, Arizona.
Bill Hall singled home second baseman Hernan Iribarren to open the Milwaukee scoring in the first against Garland.
Kevin Mench followed with a two-run double in the next at-bat, but Garland did not allow another run over the next three innings.
White Sox designated hitter Eduardo Perez delivered a two-out, three-run home run in the bottom of the first off Brewers starter Chris Capuano.
