MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Marquette guard Jerel McNeal will miss the first round of the NCAA tournament because of an injured right thumb.
Associate athletic director Mike Broeker says the sophomore won't play in the Golden Eagles' game against Michigan State tomorrow.
He's missed the team's last three games.
McNeal is a second-team all-Big East selection and conference defensive player of the year who's averaging just under 15 points a game.
