UPDATE: Wausau East Prepping for State Tournament
If last year's devastating sectional finals loss was not enough motivation for the Wausau East Lumberjacks, maybe it was their ability to exceed expectations all season.
There's no doubt last year's buzzer-beater bank-three that haulted East's dreams of making it to state has been on their minds all season.
But for a team that wasn't even considered to be a favorite to win the Wisconsin Valley Conference title, let alone make it to state.
And without all the pressure of high expectations, East has found that the underdog role has fit them well.
Although they have exceeded the expectations of others, this team knew what they were capable of.
The Lumberjacks are hoping they can continue to exceed expectations and win state.
