GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- Green Bay Packers linebacker Nick Barnett wants a new, long-term deal that pays top dollar.
But, Barnett promises he won't hold out.
The Packers are negotiating with Barnett and his agent to get him signed beyond this year, the final year of his contract.
Barnett started in all but two games in four seasons.
The defensive leader has been tops in tackles for three straight years.
If the Packers can't reach agreement with Barnett, he's willing to prove his worth next season and then cash in on unrestricted free agency.
