Kole Heckendorf has finally signed on with a practice squad of an NFL team.
Stop me if you've heard this one before.
The Mosinee native signed with the Detroit Lions' practice squad today. Heckendorf thought he'd be signing with the Lions last week, but when he got there it turned out to be nothing more than a tryout, and they didn't sign him.
So Friday he worked out with the Browns, Saturday the Dolphins, Sunday night his phone rings and it's the Lions, saying they've booked him a flight first thing Monday morning to come to Motown.
The receiver the Lions signed last week instead of Kole, was released today to make room for him.
