PHOENIX (AP) -- Jeff Suppan made short work of his spring training debut with his new team today.
Suppan's $42 million, four-year contract is the largest contract in Brewers' history.
He needed only 35 pitches in three innings as Milwaukee beat the Chicago White Sox 4-3 in Phoenix.
Suppan gave up one run off two hits.
He also singled on a chopper up the middle in the third inning.
Geoff Jenkins drove in the go-ahead run off Carlos Vasquez in the eighth inning and drove in three runs.
He says he worked hard during the offseason to eliminate a problem that developed last year, when he was lunging forward when swinging at the ball.
It looks like it worked.
