MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- The rubber match between Wisconsin and Michigan State could come in the Big Ten Conference tournament on Friday.

The Badgers wrapped up their most successful regular season in school history with a dramatic at-home 52-50 win over the Spartans on Saturday.

The win avenged a loss to Michigan State just 11 days earlier.

Wisconsin has a bye in the first round of the conference tournament that starts Thursday in Chicago.

Michigan State must avoid an upset by Northwestern in the first round before it can advance to face the Badgers for a third time in 18 days.

Wisconsin coach Bo Ryan says today that he is preparing for either team, but obviously the Badgers are more familiar with Michigan State.

Wisconsin last played Northwestern on February 3.
