The Pointer Mens Basketball Team is hoping their home fans will get to see them run up a three-game winning streak Wednesday night.

The Blue Devils of UW-Stout are coming to town, and they lost one to UW-Stevens Point on December 10th.

"Stout is very quick," says Head Coach Jack Bennett, "They start a 7-footer and a 6-7 kid."

The Pointers are currently 4th in the WIAC, and a win over Stout Wednesday would keep them in the thick of things in the conference standings.

Meanwhile, the Pointer women are coming off a heartbreaking overtime loss to UW-Oshkosh. They're looking to rebound with a win of their own over the Blue Devils.

The ladies are back in class, and that's not bad as far as coaches and players are concerned. Head Coach Shirley Egner says she's looking forward to getting back to a Wednesday-Saturday schedule every week.

The Pointers trail Oshkosh and Eau Claire in the WIAC standings, with Stout sitting just a half-game behind UWSP.

The men will get it started with Stout Wednesday at 8 p.m. in the Quandt Fieldhouse, while the women will have the nightcap one half-hour after the men finish. They'll take on Stout in the Berg Gym.
