News Channel Seven followed a few hunters around today during their hunt. We headed out from the time they left at 5 a.m. Saturday morning until the sweet moment of bagging the buck.
"I probably won't even get a deer," says hunter Chad Knuth.
That's the attitude he had as he walked out the door for the early morning hunt. He set out to "bag a buck" with several of his friends and family. For Chad, it was just going to be a day of fun and tradition. Soon after our camera crew left, Chad and his fellow hunters came face to face with their prize, a 10 pt. buck.
So why all the hoopla?
"Bragging rights, trying to say hey, I did that what did you get," Knuth says as he grins.
And that's exactly what he did: The same for Jim Trentlage. He shot his deer only a few hours into the hunt.
"We started walking in about 5:00 this morning and got to our spot about six and two hours later shot this one," Trentlage says with pride as he motions to his dead deer.
There are still eight days left to bag the buck. Good luck and happy hunting.
