Badgers Take Lead in Big Ten, Beat Buckeyes 72-69

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Kammron Taylor scored 25 points and third-ranked Wisconsin survived a late charge by Greg Oden and fifth-ranked Ohio State to beat the Buckeyes 72-to-69 in men's basketball tonight.

The Badgers used a 14-point run midway through the second half to pull ahead.

But the Buckeyes rallied to close within 69-64 on a dunk by Oden with 37 seconds remaining.

Taylor then made one of two free throws on the other end, and the Buckeyes' Ron Lewis hit a 3-pointer to cut the lead to three with 25 seconds left.

Joe Krabbenhoft hit one of two free throws for Wisconsin, and Oden again scored on a dunk to cut the lead to 71-69.

After Taylor again hit one of two free throws, Jamar Butler missed a potential game-tying 3-pointer at the buzzer.

Alando Tucker added 17 points for the Badgers.

Ivan Harris led Ohio State with 17 points.

Wisconsin's record now is 16-and-1 overall and 2-and-oh in the Big Ten.
