Badger Hockey Drops First in Classic

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Nick Dodge's first collegiate hat trick gave Number 15 Clarkson a 6-to-2 men's hockey victory over Wisconsin tonight in semifinals of the Badger Hockey Showdown.

Dodge, the Golden Knights' junior captain, scored his team's first two goals, then scored again in the third period for a 5-to-1 lead.

David Leggio made 29 saves for Clarkson (12-5-and-1), which won its sixth straight game.

Senior defenseman Michael Grenzy added his first two goals of the season for the Golden Knights, who will play Lake Superior State in tomorrow's championship game.

Jake Dowell scored a second-period power-play goal and Andy Bohmbach scored his first career goal for the Badgers (7-10-and-2), who saw a three-game winning streak end.

Wisconsin's Brian Elliott stopped 26 shots.

Wisconsin, which will play Providence for third place, fell to 3-7-and-1 at home this season.
