MENOMONIE, Wis. (AP) -- A University of Wisconsin-Stout football player from Greenwood has been charged with drug-related charges.
Senior linebacker Luke Steffen has been charged with felony maintaining a drug trafficking place and three misdemeanor counts for possession of marijuana, possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He's scheduled for an initial court appearance in Dunn County on January 16.
A confidential police informant allegedly purchased cocaine from John Henry Freeman the third at Steffen's apartment on December 14. Police also say Steffen had steroids in his home.
Freeman, a former receiver for the team, has been charged with two counts of manufacture and deliver cocaine, possession with intent to deliver cocaine, possession with intent to deliver marijuana and maintaining a drug trafficking house.
Junior reserve linebacker Nicholas OrRico has been cited by police with deliver of marijuana and possession with intent to deliver marijuana. Steroids were also found at his home.
