Wausau East's Joe Gallion wins Brockmeyer Award

Joe Gallion of Wausau East High school is the winner of the 2006 Win Brockmeyer award. The award honors the most outstanding senior football player in the Wausau area. It was started in 1996 to honor the memory of the late great Wausau coach.
It's been a long road to this point for Joe, who moved to a foster home here in Wausau to become a starter on the football team and the class president.
Joe embodies what the win brockmeyer award is all about, outstanding courage, sportsmanship, aggressiveness, and maybe most importantly personal development. Along with the nice plaque Joe will receive a two thousand dollar scholarship.
Gallion beat other two other outstanding nominees to win today's award, Andy Beyerl of Wausau West and Arlen Fischer of Wausau Newman. Both outstanding football players receive $500 scholarships for being nominated.
D.C. Everest did not submit a nominee for the this year's award.
