MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- A rout in the WIAA Division Seven championship game at Camp Randall Stadium today.
Gilman beats Eleva-Strum 42-to-0.
There wasn't time for a family meeting after Gilman's Trevor Rosemeyer got off to a shaky start by fumbling on the first possession and throwing an interception early in the second quarter.
Trevor's uncle, Robin Rosemeyer, is coach. Rosemeyer says he couldn't say anything to him, because he never comes off the field.
Turns out, the younger Rosemeyer didn't need a pep talk. He came up with an interception of his own on defense, then led the Pirates on a long touchdown drive -- the first score in its rout of Eleva-Strum.
Rosemeyer rushed for two touchdowns, threw for another score and made two interceptions on defense -- and might not have even had the most impressive outing of the day for the Pirates.
