GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- The Green Bay Packers want to re-sign Mark Tauscher, but that depends on how long it will take for the right tackle to rehabilitate his injured left knee.

Coach Mike McCarthy says he's been in regular contact with Tauscher, who has been rehabilitating a torn anterior cruciate ligament at the Packers' facility, hoping to be ready for the 2009 season.

Recovery time for Tauscher's type of injury is 8 to 10 months, putting his return sometime in the regular season.

McCarthy says it's a medical condition that's going to make for a tough decision. The Packers would have to prepare to replace Tauscher as their starting right tackle if it takes that long for him to return to full strength.
