DC Everest grad April Roble celebrated her 20th birthday today by putting pen to paper.

Roble will play her final two years of volleyball at Bethany College in Kansas, a little NAIA school in Lindsborg, Kansas, about 70 miles north of Wichita.

"I normally don't go that far to sign girls," said Bethany head coach Nathalea Stephenson. "I do go to Colorado, it's not that far, I can drive eight hours. But I wanted to come up and see where April went to school. See Bart (Gray, athletic director). Wanted to meet April's coach and family and kind of get a sense of what she's about."

The last two years, Roble has been honing her skills at UW-Marathon, claiming all-conference the last two years, and player of the year honors her freshman season.

"Just because you're a junior college athlete doesn't mean you can't go to the next level," Roble said. "Sure I only have two years to play, but I'm going to take my two years and use them up. I know a lot of kids don't think they have the abilities or are good enough to do it. I'm going to take my two years and run with it."

The Bethany Swedes are coming off a 19-10 campaign that ended in the championship of the KCAC Tournament.
