GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- The widow of Pro Football Hall of Fame defensive end Reggie White says she understands what Brett Favre is going through.

White played for the Green Bay Packers from 1993 to 1998. He retired and then came back in 2000 to play one season for the Carolina Panthers.

Sara White says her husband and Brett Favre were good friends and probably share an inability to let go of the game. She says playing with the Panthers helped her husband get it out of his system.

But Sara White also says Reggie White's comeback was a disappointment. She says, "He didn't get what he thought he wanted. He didn't have those people from Green Bay. Really, what he missed was Green Bay."

Still, Sara White says Favre should go with his feelings and play if he feels able.

Like the lil boy that cried WOLF. Enough is enough. Retire already. I had alot of respect for him when he said he was finally done. He is in good health, young, and has young children. Spend some time with them already. Now ~ I had enough hearing about it. All that money (OR FAME, That is what he is looking for now. Just goes to your head) Life doesn't revolve around Brett. He should think about his family for once. They stuck by him with his career. Not let the rest of his family do what they want. Selfish.. I think he just wants to go down in history as saying he tried to come back. Another one for the record books. Brett... Enjoy your 2 arms and 2 legs. Retire already before you can't enjoy it...
