2012 NC7 Girls Basketball All-Stars

2012 marks the 51st year for the NewsChannel 7 Basketball All-Stars.

Lets meet this year's 10 ladies, voted on by our panel of coaches, and we'll start with the small schools.

From Newman, senior Sarah Connolly.
The Marawood South Conference Player of the Year and an all-state selection in Division 5.
Sarah led the Cardinals to the state semifinals for a 3rd straight year, averaging almost 17 points, 3.5 assists, 4.5 steals for the 25-2 cards.

Edgar junior Holly Denfeld.
She poured in nearly 17 points and 7 rebounds for the Wildcats, leading them to a regional championship. Holly shot 49% from the field while earning 1st Team All-Marawood South.

Owen-Withee's Alyssa Gordon.
A 1st team All-Coverbelt East selection, the senior guided the Blackhawks to a state runner-up finish in Division 5. Alyssa hit an eye-popping 53% of her shots, for nearly 14 points per contest, surpassing the 1,000 point plateau for her career, with almost 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals.

Jenny Lindner from Neillsville.
Just a sophomore, she led the Warriors to the Division 4 state championship, the first in school history. Jenny is a 1st team All-State choice in D4, earning Cloverbelt East Player of the Year, shooting 52% from the field while averaging over 13 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 3 steals for the 28-0 Warriors.

From Amherst, Jaimee Pitt.
The sophomore Falcon was tabbed the CWC-8 Player of the Year while leading her squad with 14 points, to go along with 4 rebounds, 4 assists, 4 steals and a block per game.

To the large schools now.

From SPASH, Morgan Cebula.
The senior was a 2nd-team Valley Conference selection, averaging almost 9 points and 5 rebounds, 2 blocks and an assist per game while leading the Panthers to their first conference title in 6 years and first 20-win season since 2001.

Taylor Kuhn of Medford.
A 1st-team all-Great Northern Conference selection, Taylor averaged more than 14 points and nearly 8 rebounds per game for the GNC champions.

Merrill's Renee Sladek.
The Blue Jays sophomore was tabbed a 1st team all-Valley Conference selection. Renee scored almost 18 points per game, nearly 8 rebounds, 2 blocks, an assist and a steal, leading the Blue Jays to their first regional championship in 5 years.

Nicole Slovensky, Wisconsin Rapids.
A 1st team all-Valley Confernece performer, the senior Red Raider averaged nearly 13 points per outing while hitting 47% of her shots. Add in 4 assists, 2 rebounds, 2 steals and a block.

Finally, Marshfield's Taylor Varsho.
A 3-time NewsChannel 7 All-Star and the only repeat selection this year. Taylor was the Valley Conference Player of the Year and a Division 1 All-State choice. The senior Tiger netted better than 18 points per game, on her way to setting the school's all-time scoring record with 1,367 points in 3 seasons. She also averaged 4 rebounds and 2 assists.

**The NewsChannel 7 All-Stars and the Coaches of the Year are voted on by coaches across northcentral Wisconsin. Coaches submit their player(s) for nomination, but are NOT allowed to vote for their own players. Thank you to the following coaches for voting on this year's All-Stars.
