Packers Won't Rush Injured Players Back for Bears Game Save Email Print

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- Green Bay Packers defensive tackle Ryan Pickett only saw limited action in practice Wednesday because of a groin injury.

He says he doesn't expect to find out if he'll be playing in Sunday's game at Chicago until the last minute.

Coach Mike McCarthy says he's not going to rush things, so Pickett might be sitting out the Bears game.

The same is true for reserve quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who's recovering from a hamstring injury.

If Rodgers isn't available, Craig Nall will be Brett Favre's backup.

And if Pickett is out, rookie Justin Harrell likely will start at defensive tackle despite a disclocated thumb he suffered in Sunday's win in St. Louis.

It would be Harrell's first start.
